EHS AED Donation Program

Emergency Health Services and Emergency Medical Care Inc. intermittently have AED donation programs that provide these devices to locations of need in conjunction with the Jordan Boyd Foundation, one of our long-standing partners.

When seeking out locations, we find high value in locations that are willing to place an AED in an accessible location that will be available as many hours per day, days per week, weeks per month, and months per year. Our goal is always to strive for locations that are accessible 24/7 wherever possible.

The first step in applying for an AED would be to request, fill, and return the AED donation application form to [email protected].

Once returned to the AED Registry Program Coordinator, the donation will be put through a matrix to rate it from low to immediate need.

The final step involves a consensus meeting with representatives from EMC and EHS.

*Please note that AED requests outnumber the number of AEDs to be donated and priority will always be given to locations that are willing to make their AED as available and accessible as possible. If the AED availability cannot be maximized, we will work with the requester and community partners to see if there is a better suitable location nearby which can satisfy increased availability. For example, we have donated to nearby gas stations and/or coffee shops which are open more days and longer hours, if not 24/7.

**AED registration and a minimum amount of GoodSAM responders will be required to sign up before an AED is donated. AED donations are seen as a way to build the Nova Scotia AED registry program and are meant to benefit all Nova Scotians.
